Aretha Franklin by Tia
They’ve made a movie about McDonald’s (The Founder), Scottish guys fighting (Braveheart), and the friendships between various dogs and his owner (A Dog’s Purpose). But what about one of the greatest singers of all time and a civil rights advocate? Recently it was reported that they are going to create a movie on Aretha Franklin or "The Soul Queen." So far, they have not come up with the name for the film, but Jennifer Hudson was cast as the lead. Not many people know about this great American singer and songwriter as much as they should. Her story is one about the struggle and triumph of a minister’s daughter from Detroit who began her career in singing at her father’s church. Jennifer Hudson, who made her debut on American Idol and continued her career in the motion picture, Dream Girls, would be an ideal Aretha. Though the task of playing The Soul Queen will be hard to play and hard to sing. Her songs, Think, Earthquake, Respect, etc. are just examples of her more well-known songs. I hope to see it come out soon and for everybody else will be able to see it as well.
