Mass Media by Sarah S

This year, in seventh grade, I finally have mass media as a class. I’ve had Mr. Clayton in fifth grade for keyboarding, and SEEK, and in sixth grade, for ELA, Rampage, and SEEK. So I’ve had the Mass Media teacher for a while, which is partially why it’s my favorite class.
It’s also my favorite class because of my love for videography. I’ve been filming things and editing them since I was 8, and now I get to do it for a grade! It’s another step up; now I get a reward. Hopefully later I’ll go one more step up and get paid for it.
Towards the beginning of the year, we did sequences, after we learned what they were. I did mine at home, since I had an idea for it that would have been easier to do at home, and I imported the footage during mass media one class. The video turned out great.
We are currently in the middle of a project, our first “big” project in mass media. I’m looking forward to seeing how the project is going to turn out!
I think mass media is a great class in our school. It teaches kids something they might not get in other schools, and helps students find their passion, and see if they are interested in the type of things we do in that class. I think it’s a great opportunity for students, and I love being able to participate in the class!
