Pandemic Hobbies by 8th grader Gage G

Over the course of the pandemic, people have had very different lifestyles than what they were used to. Today I'll be suggesting some fun things to do around your house to keep you from being bored during this time. Here are three activities that you can try, Baking, Arts arts and Crafts, and Binge watching a new show. Let's get things started!

The first activity you can do is to bake something. Not everyone is into baking, but every once in a while some homemade cookies are just delicious! Now you might be wondering where you can find recipes for this? Some great websites are, bakingmad, My Baking Addiction, and Joy of Baking. These three websites are helpful when trying to bake something such as cookies or brownies. This is one of the fun, and delicious things you can do.

The second activity you could try is arts and crafts. Our family did a lot of these type of projects while in quarantine. Something we built together was a catapult. With this we did a game to see who could catch the most marshmallows in their mouth when shot out of the homemade catapult. This was a lot of fun overall, and definitely a recommendation for others. A great website to find a bunch of these fun activities is called https://www.happinessishomemade.net/. This is definitely a great way to pass the time, and have fun while doing it.

The third activity I can suggest while stuck at home is to get into a good tv show, or a movie series. These always seem to pass the time for me, and they're very entertaining. Some great recommendations for movies are, Grease, Black Panther, and the Rocky movies. Some great tv show recommendations are, Outerbanks, All American, and The Office. These shows and movies are sure to take up a lot of your time, and should make quarantine go by much faster.

In conclusion there are a lot of fun and interesting things you can do while stuck at home. From baking, to watching movies, and enjoying arts and crafts. At our house, we do all three activities together! We sling cookies into eachothers mouths, with the catapult while watching our favorite movie. Say you do all of these and want something new, or just simply don’t like them, look something up! The internet is full of ideas, and things to do during this pandemic. Overall quarantine isn’t the end of the world, if you look close enough, you can always find something exciting to do!
